Jaipur, George’s Street, Dublin 2 will close on 20th January 2015 due to the sale of the building. When it opened in 1999, Jaipur George’s Street set the standard for modern ethnic dining in Dublin and was the first in restaurateur Asheesh Dewan’s Jaipur Group, which now includes Jaipur Dalkey, Jaipur Malahide, Jaipur Ongar, Chakra in Greystones and Ananda at Dundrum Town Centre.
“It has been a great 16 years, with many wonderful memories” said Asheesh, “but as our tenancy had been so uncertain for so long, it nearly feels overdue. Thankfully, every restaurant in the Jaipur Group is busy, so the staff of Jaipur George’s Street can stay with us. We are grateful for the very many loyal customers who dined with us at George’s Street over the years and look forward to welcoming them at our other restaurants.”
The Jaipur Group is now actively seeking new restaurant locations in Dublin city and beyond to further expand the Jaipur concept, while Jaipur Dalkey and Chakra in Greystones will undergo renovation later in 2015.
