Cheesy Mash Potato

Want to pimp up your mashed potato? Our cheesy mash is the perfect crowd pleaser!

Ingredients

  • 1.5kg fluffy potatoes, peeled and chopped
  • 100ml milk
  • 50g butter
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • Salt & pepper
  • Flat leaf parsley
  • 40g cheddar cheese, grated

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan assisted/gas 4
  2. Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
  3. Drain using a colander.
  4. In the saucepan add butter, nutmeg and milk then gently warm. Turn off the heat. Return the potatoes to the saucepan and using a potato masher, mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
  5. Season with salt and pepper and add flat leaf parsley.
  6. Spoon the potato into a baking/oven dish. Top with cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
  8. Serve.
