Baked Alaska

This beautiful Baked Alaska recipe is created by Brain McDermott The No Salt Chef

Ingredients

  • 4 Trifle Sponge Pieces
  • 1 Block Of Vanilla Ice Cream
  • 4 Egg Whites
  • 200g Castor Sugar
  • 2 Shots of Sherry
  • 500g Mixed Fruit Berries of your choice
  • 100g Sugar
  • 1 Cinnamon Stick

Instructions

  1. Place Fruit Berries in pot add cinnamon stick and 100g sugar with shot of sherry and slowly cook for 15 minutes. Allow to cool
  2. Arrange sponge in bottom or earthenware dish. Cover with the cooled mixed fruit removing cinnamon stick. Drizzle with shot of sherry
  3. Arrange ice cream on top of Fruit
  4. Beat Egg Whites till light and fluffy and gradually add sugar.
  5. Preheat Grill. Spread Meringue over the ice cream and place in oven under grill until golden specs appear on Meringue. Serve immediately
