It is 4th of July, and thus, today we celebrate America, and all its foodie amazingness. We’ve put together a list of American food to be grateful for. And we are. For realz.
FRIED CHICKEN
Though we have yet to master it over here, although Crackbird do a good line, we are constantly searching for the ultimate fried chicken. Crispy and spicy on the outside, breaking open to reveal well seasoned, buttermilk-rich chicken within; when it comes to fried food, this is the ultimate goal.
PANCAKES
But American ones. Fluffy, pillowy deliciousness, layered in a huge stack; we like ours doused in maple syrup and served with bacon, and lots of it.
MARSHMALLOW FLUFF
This bizarre toast topper is a thing of sweet toothed glory. Not for the fainthearted, when paired with Nutella it becomes a sugar high that will not be forgotten.
KRAFT MAC N CHEESE
While we agree that pasta sauce in a box is just wrong, there is somethings SO ULTIMATELY American, and completely delicious about a box of Mac and Cheese, that we can’t help but hail it as our guilty pleasure.
HOME FRIES
Served in diners across America, Home Fries are pan fried new potatoes, with peppers, onions and a hint of spice. So, SO delicoius.
DELI SANDWICHES
Whoever came up with the idea to load as much sliced meat into a sandwich and serve it with a gherkin is a genius. A GENIUS, we tell you!
KEY LIME PIE
The official pie of Florida, this tangy pie of deliciousness is available the world over, but we go to America for our fix of true pie-dom.
SOURDOUGH BREAD
San Francisco is the home to real sourdough, the way it should be. It is worth a visit just to taste it.
MEATLOAF
Thank you, America, for giving us another recipe for Mince. We adore it.

Buy from a cart in New York for true authenticity, but anywhere in the states, these are good.
