The Dublin Gospel Choir will be entertaining supermarket shoppers ‘on the aisles’ on Friday, December 19th, in a series of free lunch-time concerts in the Capital that day.
Brain-child of Irish supermarket group, ‘Fresh – The Good Food Market’, the Dublin Gospel Choir are performing four simultaneous concerts between 12 noon and 2pm in each of the four Fresh supermarkets (#freshmusicseries).
Performing crowd-pleasers and chart favourites, the four sets of gospel singers will be entertaining shoppers in the IFSC (Dublin 1), Grand Canal Quay (Dublin 2), Smithfield Village (Dublin 7) and Lower Camden Street (Dublin 2), for free. Organisers are also planning winter treats and Christmas refreshments for the public that day.
Announcing plans for the December 19th concerts, Noel Smith, founder of ‘Fresh – The Good Food Market’, explains: “Since the doors of the very first Fresh Supermarket opened in 2006, our shoppers have been extremely loyal and we wanted to come up with a memorable way of thanking them this year. 2014 has been a very busy year for Fresh, as we were shortlisted for the ‘Retail Excellence Ireland’ awards for the first time and we also opened up a brand new Fresh Supermarket in the IFSC. So, we’ve decided to celebrate Christmas in style by organising this free lunch-time concert series, in association with the Dublin Gospel Choir.”
Fresh – The Good Food Market was set up in 2006 and now has four stores in Ireland, all located in Dublin city centre. Over the last eight years, the Irish retailer has gained a reputation for supporting artisan suppliers and small food producers in particular and regularly runs in-store food fairs.
