Savour Galway’s newest dining experience – Il Vicolo Restaurant & Bácaro – which has just reopened in the stunning Bridge Mills, located in the heart of the city.

Adopting a rustic Northern Italian feel, the menu serves a selection of cicchetti and spunciotti – small, Venetian-style dishes. The antipasti starters include pan-seared scallops and house made ravioloni, while the À la carte menu features a choice of pasta, risotto, steak and fish dishes, complete with a selection of meat & cheese boards.

For a sweet treat, the homemade desserts are a must and include; traditional tiramisu, affogato and amaretto & dark chocolate mousse to name but a few. Keeping with the authenticity of the restaurant, the culinary team is overseen by Italian Head Chef Federica Stella.

The carefully chosen wine list is exclusively Italian and has a particular emphasis on artisan and hand crafted wines. The extensive list with over 65 wines spans the entire peninsula from the southern tip of Sicliy to the German speaking district of Sud-Tirol on the Austrian border. A range of Italian beer is also available including Ichnusa (Sardinian) and Menabrea (Piemonte) and is the only restaurant in Galway serving both Processo and Moretti beer on tap!

Two stone-clad dining rooms lie on either side of the wine bar, with the River Corrib running underneath the main dining room, exposing the mesmerising old mill wheel. While the opposite dining area opens out onto a stunning riverside terrace that overlooks the Galway streetscapes, perfectly located to relish the famous atmosphere of the city.
