Kenwood has been recognised for excellence in design by being one of a few British brands to win a prestigious Gold iF Award for its iconic Kenwood CHEF Sense.
This Gold Award is a particular achievement for Kenwood as the CHEF sense represents 65 years of evolution of the iconic Kenwood Chef model from the 1950’s. The design reflects the changing needs of today’s consumer and has been refined to guarantee optimum user experience. This intuitive kitchen machine delivers the practical quality and exceptional performance expected from Kenwood, but has additional style and numerous advanced functions.
The iF Design Jury was extremely impressed with the Kenwood Chef Sense commenting, “Everything about this kitchen machine is perfect: it’s sturdy, it’s easy to clean and it delivers very high performance. Using high-end materials, all these functions have been translated into a very clean and clear design concept that instantly communicates trust, efficiency and high quality.”
Jamie Weaden, Industrial Design Team Leader at Kenwood comments: “Kenwood’s products have won numerous design awards over the decades, but as the iF Gold Award recognises only the very elite of the winners, it’s especially prestigious and an achievement we are very proud of. “
Our products achieve both a rational consumer pull as well as an emotional one. What sets the CHEF Sense apart from its competitors is the focus given to aesthetics and delivering the best user experience we possibly could.”
Each year the iF Design Awards attract almost 5,000 product entries from more than 50 countries and this year was judged by 53 renowned experts from 20 countries. The very best entries are awarded an iF Gold Award while other great entries receive an iF Award for outstanding design quality. There are 1,500 winning entries and within these only 75 Gold’s are awarded. Running since 1953, the internationally renowned iF Design Awards represent outstanding design achievements and Kenwood celebrates being one of few British brands to receive this accolade.
As well as a Gold Award, Kenwood also walked away with a further two iF Design Awards for the Kenwood MultiOne and Kenwood Multipro Micro, based on their innovative functionality and outstanding design quality.
The Kenwood MultiOne has been designed to present the baking appeal of a mixer and the daily task of food processing in an integrated format. Practicalities have been carefully considered throughout the design. All attachments including the primary food processor, juicer and blender are located on the central hub outlet for ease and simplicity. Easy access to the mixing bowl for adding ingredients has been achieved through the head lift design. A contemporary and clean aesthetic reinforces the attractiveness of this all-in-one appliance.
The Kenwood Multipro Micro brings innovation in the form of a direct serve outlet that ensures the user is able to prepare sliced and grated food direct to the plate. The product also offers dual functionality as it can be transformed from a micro food processor to a mini chopper in just few easy steps. The design is practical yet affirming and delivers inherent quality with its solid die cast metal body and stainless steel discs; offering a level of premium materials and constructions not typically found in this product category.
Jamie Weaden goes on to say, “Similarly, the MultiOne and Multipro Micro have been designed with both user convenience and functionality front of mind. We believe a progressive aesthetic paired with investment in the key touch points, both in terms of time and cost, will be critical in driving desire and delivering delight in ownership for many years to come.”
