Porridge Cafe – What Next?

A  porridge cafe has sprung up in Old Street, London this week in an attempt to make oats more interesting. Not as boring as it sounds, owners Nik and Ella were inspired by a trip to Scandinavia where they saw porridge being used as a base for lots of amazing dishes. They did loads of research, have come up with lots of different grains that can be used to make porridge, as well as a dizzying array of toppings (chorizo and avocado anyone?). It may be gimmicky. It may be aimed at the hippest hipsters, but we pretty much guarantee we’ll see one popping  up in Ireland over the next few months
