A Proper Fish Dinner
Tue Jun 24 2014
Slow Food Ireland are running a super exciting event in Dun Laoghaire on 28th of June. The event will be in two parts – a half-day fishing trip followed by a fish supper. The plan is, the would-be fishermen in the group will meet at Wicklow Harbour ready to go out on the boat for 9am and receive expert tuition on sea angling. They hope to catch some fish for supper – but, as all things in nature, this cannot be guaranteed! The group will return to Dun Laoghaire mid-afternoon to meet up with the rest of the group to cook and eat the fish and share stories of the high seas! Sounds amazing, doesn’t it?!
Numbers for the fishing trip itself are strictly limited to 12 people who must all be prepared to participate in the actual fishing – no onlookers allowed! All fishing tackle and bait will be provided. Wet weather gear, including waterproof shoes will be required. Places will be allocated on a first-come-first served basis.
Numbers for the supper are unlimited and attendees may help with the preparation and cooking of the fish if they wish.
Supper will include fish (of course!), various salads and breads, wine and soft drinks.
Cost:
Fishing & Supper – €20 per member, €30 per non-member
Supper Only – €5 per member, €10 per non-member
