Boonana Milkshakes

The tastiest ghosts you’ll ever see, boonana milkshakes can be whipped up in minutes for a spooktacular banana flavoured treat. Fresh banana blended with milk and ice-cream, topped with lightly sweetened whipped cream, this milkshake will have you screaming… in joy!

This recipe makes 2 large milkshakes or 4 smaller ones. You’ll need to use a black marker to draw the faces on your glasses, just make sure you don’t use your best crystal, and if you want to play it safe, use a wipeable marker pen.

Ingredients

  • 125ml double cream
  • 1 tsp caster sugar
  • 175ml milk
  • 6 scoops vanilla ice-cream
  • 2 medium bananas

Instructions

  1. Start by drawing two eyes and a long oval shape for the mouth on your glasses, remember, don’t use your favourite crystal!
  2. Whisk the double cream with sugar just until firm peak. Tip: You need to be able to pipe the cream and have it hold its shape.
  3. Spoon the whipped cream into a piping bag. Tip: you can fit it with a large plain nozzle, or simply just snip the end of the piping bag. If you don’t have piping bags, you can also use a freezer back, just push the cream into one of the bottom corners of the bag. Cut the tip off just before decorating.
  4. Pour milk into blender jug then add the ice-cream and bananas. Place lid securely onto the jug then blend until smooth.
  5. Pour milkshake into glasses to mostly full, you need to leave about 1-finger’s width of space at the top so that the milkshake doesn’t spill over the sides when you pipe on the whipped cream. Pop a straw into each glass.
  6. Pipe a large swirl of whipped cream on top of each milkshake, then enjoy!
  7. For added indulgence, you can add a chocolate rim on the glass before filling, simply spread a bit of chocolate spread around the rim of the glass then dip in chocolate sprinkles.
