Introduction
Want to pimp up your mashed potato? Our cheesy mash is the perfect crowd pleaser!
Ingredients
- 1.5kg fluffy potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 100ml milk
- 50g butter
- ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
- Salt & pepper
- Flat leaf parsley
- 40g cheddar cheese, grated
Method
- 1. Preheat oven to 180°C/160°C fan assisted/gas 4
- 2. Place the potatoes in a large saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil and simmer for 15 minutes or until cooked through.
- 3. Drain using a colander.
- 4. In the saucepan add butter, nutmeg and milk then gently warm. Turn off the heat. Return the potatoes to the saucepan and using a potato masher, mash the potatoes until smooth and creamy.
- 5. Season with salt and pepper and add flat leaf parsley.
- 6. Spoon the potato into a baking/oven dish. Top with cheddar cheese.
- 7. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
- 8. Serve.
