Strawberry Freakshake This completely over-the-top and indulgent strawberry milkshake is topped with a fluffy cloud of whipped cream and every pink treat you can imagine! This recipe makes enough to fill one 350ml glass, but you can easily double or triple to make more, or you could split this recipe into two smaller glasses for a much tamer after-meal treat. We topped these pretty pink freakshakes with big and small marshmallows, pink wafers, pink yoghurt covered pretzels, ice-cream shaped foam sweets, a juicy strawberry and some pink sprinkles. Have fun scouting the aisles for everything pink to top off your masterpiece! Sponsored by Kenwood Ireland

Ingredients

  • For the milkshake
  • 90ml milk
  • 3 scoops strawberry ice-cream
  • 1 tsp strawberry milk powder, optional
  • To assemble
  • Strawberry or Raspberry syrup
  • 1 Strawberry
  • 60ml double cream, whipped to soft peak
  • Assorted pink sweets, marshmallows, pink wafers etc. (see notes in recipe)
  • Paper or re-usable straws

Method

  • 1. Start by popping your drinking glass (or glasses) in the freezer while you gather your ingredients.
  • 2. Once you have everything in place, drizzle the inside of the glass with strawberry or raspberry syrup (or both!). Pop it back into the freezer while you make the milkshake.
  • 3. Pour milk into blender jug then add ice-cream and strawberry milk powder, if using. Place lid securely onto the jug then blend until smooth.
  • 4. Remove sauce-drizzled glass from the freezer. Drizzle more strawberry or raspberry syrup around the rim of the glass then fill the glass with the blended milkshake.
  • 5. Pop a straw into the milkshake. Cut a slit halfway up the strawberry and slide this over the rim of the glass. Spoon soft-peak whipped cream on top then finish decorating with your choice of treats. (We topped our freakshake with pink wafers, large and small marshmallows, strawberry cheesecake covered pretzels, and ice-cream shaped sweets we dug out of a pack of foam sweets.)
  • 6. Drizzle with more strawberry or raspberry syrup and finally finish off with pink sprinkles. Enjoy!
