CADBURY’S EASTER EGG TRAIL FOR BARNARDOS
Make it a choctastic Easter weekend and bring your little Eggsplorers to the Cadbury Easter Egg Trail in Merrion Square on Easter Saturday 4th April, all in aid of Barnardos! Cadbury has lined up another egg-stra special family event, with all participants receiving a delicious Cadbury Easter egg on completion of the trail! As well as having a hopping good time on the Easter Egg Trail, meeting the Easter Bunny and enjoying yummy Easter treats from Cadbury and friends from Mondeléz, including The Natural Confectionary Company and Oreos. Attending families will enjoy an afternoon of magic, disco hula-hooping, face-painting, fun in the egg-citing new bubble garden and much more! Families can choose from the morning event, from 10.00am to 12.30pm, or the afternoon event, from 2.00pm to 4.30pm. THE MAD HATTER’S TEA PARTY
On Easter Sunday April 5th 2015, The Mad Hatters Tea Party will be in Deerpark, Mount Merrion from 1pm to 5pm.
Its the first event in a great new season of dlr events and a celebration for all the family of all things Easter! Our Easter Bunnies are in training right now at a secret location, learning how to set up the Easter Trail. This crack team of egg laying rabbits will deliver their Easter eggs and trail clues to the Mad Hatters Tea Party early on Easter Sunday and your job is to follow the Easter Trail clues, claim your egg and join in the Tea Party. The “Easter Make and Do” team will be there to help guests make their own Mad Hat. All the tea party’s favourite ingredients will be there including the teacup ride, giant chess, croquet and the “Hatwalk” fashion show for your maddest hats. Remember, the event will be filmed and edited into a highlights package which will placed on Dún Laoghaire Rathdown County Council’s website, dlrevents.ie and social media outlets but not for broadcast. Anyone attending the event agrees, as a part of their attendance that their image may be used part of the edited package.
THE WATERWAYS BALLINAMORE EASTER SPRAOI
The Waterways Ireland Easter Spraoi, with the Shannon-Erne Waterway as its focal point, aims to encourage active participation in water activities. All events are free and include canoeing, kayaking, rafting, raft building, water zorbing and barge trips on the Waterway. There will also be non-water based events, the highlight of which will be the Donohoe’s Supervalu Soap Box Rally.

GALWAY FOOD FESTIVAL
The 4th Galway Food Festival features five days of exceptional food and free events for all the family in Ireland’s favourite festival city. The festival will feature food traditions from around the globe and will celebrate Galway as a good food destination, with a strong emphasis on artisan, seasonal and local produce. The 2015 event will include the food village at Spanish Arch on the banks of the River Corrib; open-air markets at Galway Market, Woodquay Country Market, Galway West End and Moycullen Market; restaurant trails; food trails; cooking and baking demonstrations including guest presenters, producers and produce from locations along the route of the Wild Atlantic Way; food tours to local artisan producers; foraging trips; food talks and debates; wine and beer tastings; food related crafts; lots of local produce; kids’ activities and family fun. Over 100 restaurants, food outlets and food producers are expected to participate and most events will be free admission. All Galway Food Festival events will be family-friendly and many will have a strong Galway, West coast and Wild Atlantic flavour.
GREENAN MAZE EASTER EGG HUNT
Greenan Maze, near Rathdrum, Co. Wicklow are hosting an EGGSTRA WILD EASTER CELEBRATION with an Egg-cellent variety of BRIGHT SPRING-SHINE FUN activities for all the family. Hop along to Greenan Maze over the Easter school holidays where the Easter Bunny will host lots of Easter egg hunts, treasure hunts, wild nature trails, feeding animals and watching baby chicks hatch, arts and crafts, face painting and fairy tree walks. Kids will be kept fully occupied and wear off all that Easter sugary buzz while adults can find some peace and tranquillity at this pretty countryside farm in the Wicklow hills.On Easter Sunday the Easter Bunny will be hopping madly through the big ½ acre hedge Maze at the Eggstra Wild Egg Hunts at 2pm and 4pm for big kids. Easy Egg Hunts for toddlers will be held at 3pm in the Solstice Maze where the little ones will easily find their way along a chocolate trail. On Easter Monday, face painting and arts and crafts will be held at the tea-rooms from 2pm to 4pm where the delicious Easter Cakes and Easter goodies will tempt parents and children alike after the long Lenten fasts.
THE GATHERING OF THE CLANS
The Gathering of the Clans, now in its 3rd year, is a chance to witness and experience some good old Irish culture, music, craic and sports. The festival aims to celebrate the proud heritage Irish people have by showcasing the natural and cultural heritage of the South Kerry region. It gives the opportunity for people from far and near to bond with their clans and friends old and new. South Kerry is an area steeped in tradition with a proud heritage and visitors will have a chance to explore every facet of this historical backdrop whilst enjoying great traditional music and good old family fun. There will be a host of events taking place around South Kerry area with the main event being the Battle of the Clans sporting event. Individuals will play on teams underneath the one family name with the resultant winners being crowned the Clan Champions. This event includes Gaelic football, traditional 4-oar rowing, golf, sheaf throwing, 5K clan relay, the drag hunt, and the new ‘Battlefield’! See event website for more details.
Enter the magical and mythical botanical walled garden at Malahide Castle for this years Easter Event on Saturday 4th April. Use the mythical map to find your way around the garden, collect the clues on your ‘Quest for the Dragons Egg’. You’ll meet some magical characters on your way…watch out though some are there to help… others are there to hinder! When you’ve completed the quest you’ll be duly rewarded! An eggciting day out for the Family, the event includes a Magical Science Show in the Project Room! Dress up for spot prizes for best costumes. Times for Dragon Quest are either 10am-12.30pm OR 2pm-4.30pm. Tickets are €12 per child & adults €7 and under 2’s go free.
EASTER @ TAYTO PARK
Exchange the chocolate for crisps at Tayto Park in Ratoath, Co Meath, re-opening for the Easter Scavenger hunt and connected activities including face-painting and magic shows to dazzle the kids on Easter Sunday. Additionally, an Easter treasure trail with Martin the Magician at the Battle of the Boyne visitor centre, Drybridge, Co Meath, is being held on April 21st from 14.00.
