Lidl Sol Y Mar – The Review
Tue Jul 15 2014
Next week, Lidl are launching Sol Y Mar, a Spanish-inspired range, for one week only. We sent Melanie May along to nibble her way through the products, and tell us what she thought.
Lidl Ireland brought some much need sunshine to rainy Dublin last week with the launch of their new range of Iberian cuisine, Sol & Mar.
The Sol & Mar range takes inspiration from the foods and customs of Spain and Portugal so expect lots of tasty tapas style dishes including Iberian cold cuts, juicy olives, and crumbly Manchego cheese. Flavours give a nod to Africa and the New World giving the dishes an authentic taste, such as smokey paprika chicken breast strips, hake fillets with spicy Spanish salsa and sundried tomato and oregano pastry rolls. There are also plenty of sweet treats available too including traditional magdalenas and almond biscuits.
The range features over sixty fresh and prepared food options, a selection of alcoholic and soft drinks, and an array of seasonings and vinegars. There are also household items for all your tapas party needs including a nifty paella pan and disposable accessories. Prices range from 0.49¢ for a can of refreshing cloudy lemonade to € 12.99 for a 1.5ℓ bottle of punchy sangria.
The Sol & Mar range hits stores nationwide for a one-week promotion from the 21st to 27th July.
