Wellfest 2016

WellFest – Ireland’s only health and wellness festival – takes place over two days in September (Saturday and Sunday, 17th and 18th September), the jam-packed schedule for the 2016 event will see 150 activities run by 100 presenters, taking place across 10 stretch-tents and eight stages in Dublin’s Herbert Park.

Joining the fitness and well-being experts at this year’s festival are a host of well-known famous foodies including Roz Purcell of Natural Born Feeder, and Little Green Spoon blogger, Indy Power. There will be cooking demonstrations taking place on both days of the festival and attendees will be given the chance to sample some of their tasty creations.

Not to Be Missed

On Saturday, 17th September, presenters not to be missed at WellFest will include:

  • Workshop area, 12.30 – 1.15pm: Fitness model and personal trainer Bradley Simmonds: the former footballer, who is now the go-to trainer for the likes of Chelsea captain John Terry, ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers and former Tottenham star Jamie Redknapp.
  • WellStage, 10.45- 11.30am: International yoga expert, The Southern Yogi.
  • WellStage, 12.45 – 1.30pm: Pat Divilly, who runs Ireland’s most successful personal training empire.
  • WellStage, 4.00 – 6.00pm: Kathryn Thomas, founder of Pure Results Bootcamp, Ireland’s premier all-inclusive fitness retreat and weight-loss bootcamp.
  • WellTalk, 9.45 – 10.30am: Clean eats blogger and founder of ‘Little Green Spoon’, Indy Power.

The festival will continue for its second day on Sunday, 18th September, with various other expert presenters and a range of hands-on activities. Sunday’s highlights include sessions with:

  • WellStage, 1.45 – 2.30pm: Russell Bateman, founder of The Skinny Bitch Collective, the fitness movement made famous by celebrity fans such as Millie Mackintosh, Suki Waterhouse, Laura Whitmore, Daisy Lowe and Ellie Goulding.
  • WellStage, 2.45 – 3.30pm: House of Voga, the London-based fitness school where classes are set to energetic 1980s aerobics beats and combine traditional yoga poses with “voguing”, a dance style originally popularised by Madonna.
  • WellTalk, 1.30- 2.10pm: Model and healthy eating advocate, Roz Purcell.
  • WellTalk, 4.05- 4.50pm: Health and wellness coach, and author / model / presenter, Alison Canavan.
  • WellTalk, 5- 6pm: Musician and mental health campaigner, Bressie, who will focus on his wellbeing movement, A Lust for Life.

Not Your Average Festival

Commenting on the upcoming festival, Katie Ryan, WellFest co-founder, said the line-up was carefully devised to ensure it appeals to all health and wellness fans, no matter what their level of experience.

“With 100 presenters contributing over the two days this year, the line- up is really exciting and there is a great selection of activities for people to choose from,” she said. “From fitness to food, and yoga to mindfulness, there’s something for everyone. People will have a chance to be active, pick up some new fitness tips and learn from the best in the health and wellness industry.”

Katie added that WellFest 2016 will be weather-proof – with stretch-tents and indoor areas ensuring festival-goers have a mud-free experience, no matter what the weather conditions are like.

Weekend tickets for WellFest cost €65, while day passes are available for €40 (plus booking fee). Tickets include unlimited access to classes, talks and workshops on health, fitness, nutrition, cookery, yoga, pilates, mindfulness, and more.
