Homemade Cleaning Products

Look, we are as green-minded as they come here at I Love Cooking HQ, but as the owners of many small children between us, we know and APPRECIATE a bottle of bleach during tummy bug season. That said, lately we have become obsessed with making homemade cleaning products. You know, products that you can brag about at the school gates – “yar, I have just whipped up a batch of homemade washing powder – my knuckles are bleeding from grating the soap but it’s SO worth it”. Products that even Gwynneth Paltrow would approve of. Products that make you feel… smug.

 

Our current fave is this recipe for dusting spray that we have adapted from this FAB blog. It smells lovely and we are getting GREAT mileage bragging about it.

Bye Bye Mr Sheen Dust Spray

2 tsp olive oil1 tsp lemon juice
4 drops grapefruit oil (or essential oil of your choice)
75ml white vinegar
250 ml warm water

Pour all of the ingredients into a dinky spray bottle, give a good shake and spray!
