Irish Beef On The Way To USA
Mon Jan 05 2015

It’s a great day for Irish beef. It has been announced that for the first time in almost two decades, Ireland will be the first country exporting beef to the USA. The ban was put in place sixteen years ago during the BSE crisis, and caused a crippling downturn to the European beef market. The announcement represents a multi million euro boost to the Irish beef industry, and once again puts our produce on the world stage. Speaking to RTE’s Morning Irleand minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney said that Ireland is well ahead of its competitors in terms of beef sales, and that China would be our next big target market.
