The Secret Chef @ Aldi

The Secret Chef is Aldi’s new range of lovingly prepared ready to cook dishes, that combine superb flavours with simple, straight-in-the-oven or stove top cooking. All that’s needed is for you to take the credit!

Created in collaboration with six separate long-term Aldi suppliers across Ireland, The Secret Chef range underwent months of tasting and tweaking to ensure that every dish in the range makes the most of the top quality Irish meat for a great tasting meal that’s simple to prepare.

Now available in all 113 stores nationwide, The Secret Chef range currently consists of 28 dishes based around Beef, Lamb, Chicken, Turkey, Bacon and Pork and will be updated regularly throughout the year, to suit the seasons.

The full range currently offers a wide choice to suit all tastes and priced from just €2.99 to €9.99.

The Secret Chef features the finest Irish lamb as a mini joint served plain or infused with garlic butter and parsley (€7.99), or as a shoulder rack with either a bell pepper or mint herb crust (€6.99). Irish beef is served up as burgers with a choice of melted toppings (€2.99), a stir-fry with vegetables and sauce (€4.99), a stroganoff (€4.99), or a striploin steak with either a pepper sauce or a pepper coating (€7.49).

Chicken breasts are served up with imagination – from Cajun Chicken with a smashed bean salsa, Garlic Chicken with a creamy lemon sauce and Lime and Chilli Chicken with a sweet chilli sauce (all €3.69). Wrapped and stuffed chicken breasts are available as Prosciutto wrapped with cream cheese and green bean, Streaky Bacon wrapped with black pudding and a cider and apple sauce, or Serrano ham wrapped with sweet onion and mustard butter (all €4.99). For a spicier option, try the Red Thai Chicken Curry or the Vietnamese style Lime, Lemongrass & Ginger stir fry (both €4.99).

Turkey breast is served plain, or stuffed and topped with bacon (€9.99). Spatchcock Chicken is available in either Garlic and Herb or Lemon and Pepper marinades (€4.29).  Bacon Eye Loins are offered in a choice of mixed pepper or honey and mustard (€4.49), or choose Stuffed Pork Steaks with either apple and sage or lemon and thyme stuffing (€6.99).

The Secret Chef range is available in store now and the current Aldi leaflet carries wine recommendations to accompany a selection of the dishes.
