Chilli Hummus

Keep this spicy dip in your fridge to snack on with crunchy vegetables or pitta bread

Ingredients

  • 2 x 400g tins chickpeas
  • 2 tbsp juice from canned chickpeas
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tbsp tahini paste
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Strain the chickpeas, keeping the liquid.
  2. Blend the chickpeas in a blender with 4 tablespoons of juice from the can.
  3. Add the garlic, chilli, tahini, cumin, lemon juice and olive oil and blend together to form a smooth paste.
  4. Season with salt and pepper, place in an airtight container and keep in the fridge.
