Introduction
This sauce is as versatile as it is delicious. Serve over ice cream, drizzle over meringues or keep in the fridge for a quick spoon of sweetness!
Ingredients
- 250ml double cream
- 25g unsalted butter
- 250g plain dark chocolate (70% cocoa solids), broken into pieces
Method
- 1. Combine cream and butter together in a saucepan, bringing it to a gentle simmer and stirring until thickened.
- 2. Remove from the hob and add in the broken chocolate pieces, keep stirring until melted.
- 3. This sauce will keep in the fridge for up to three days. It will become solid, but heat it over a pan of boiling water to bring back to sauce consistency.
