Introduction

These yummy chewy treats use the now-classic marshmallow and rice crispie combo that’s easy to shape and cut into fun shapes.

Ingredients

  • 160g rice crispies/puffed rice cereal
  • 40g butter
  • 300g marshmallows
  • Icing tubes to decorate

Method

  • 1. You will need a tray about 20cm square for setting, lined with baking parchment.
  • 2. In a saucepan slowly melt the butter and marshmallows together, stirring on a low heat until they are combined.
  • 3. Pour the cereal into the syrupy goo and stir to combine.
  • 4. Plop this into the prepared tray and press down using a metal or silicone spoon or palate knife.
  • 5. Leave to set for a hour until fully set.
  • 6. Turn the square out onto a cutting surface and cut down the middle, in half.
  • 7. Cut coffin shapes by cutting at a slight angle and then making an almost V shape, the opposite sides will automatically become the other coffin shapes.
  • 8. Cut off the top corners of each coffin and you will have your perfect shape.
  • 9. Decorate with drawn on shapes using icing tubes to make creepy spiders webs and spooky faces.
