Ingredients

  • 130g butter
  • 130g caster sugar
  • 130g self-raising flour
  • 2tbsp milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Method

  • 1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/gas mark 5.
  • 2. Grease the fairy cake or cup cake tin. beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
  • 3. Beat the eggs with a little milk then add to butter and sugar mixture a little at a time and mix well. Add in vanilla extract. Then fold in half of the flour gently into the mixture and continue to mix well.
  • 4. Finally spoon into the tin cases and bake for 12-14 minutes. Allow to cool.
