130g caster sugar
130g self-raising flour
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/gas mark 5.
Grease the fairy cake or cup cake tin. beat butter and sugar until pale and fluffy.
Beat the eggs with a little milk then add to butter and sugar mixture a little at a time and mix well. Add in vanilla extract. Then fold in half of the flour gently into the mixture and continue to mix well.
Finally spoon into the tin cases and bake for 12-14 minutes. Allow to cool.
