Thank you for your rating!

Traditionally served streetside in Greece, take the holiday home with you by serving this yummy kebab to the family tonight.

Ingredients

  • 400g lean lamb steak, sliced
  • 1 onion, peeled and sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • ½ ground cinnamon
  • To serve:
  • Pitta Bread
  • Iceberg lettuce, shredded
  • Tomato, sliced
  • Tzatziki

Instructions

  1. Put the onion, garlic and olive oil in a food processor and blitz until blended to a paste. Add the cumin, coriander, paprika and cinnamon and pulse to combine.
  2. Spread the paste over the lamb steaks and toss well to combine. Cover and refrigerate for half an hour or overnight if possible.
  3. Heat a frying pan to high and fry the lamb in batches, ensuring that it browns and caramelises on all sides. Alternatively cook on a BBQ.
  4. Stuff the lamb in toasted pitta pockets with lettuce, tomato and tzatziki.
