Introduction

A great recipe the kids will love to make and eat.

Ingredients

  • 500g good-quality sausage meat
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp mixed dried herbs
  • 1 onion salt
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 4 sheets puff pastry
  • Small cup of milk to glaze

Method

  • 1. Combine the sausage meat, egg, herbs, onion salt and pepper together in a large bowl.
  • 2. Cut each pastry sheet into 3 strips lengthways (this will mean you will have 12 strips of pastry) Place a small amount of the sausage mixture in the middle of each strip.
  • 3. Roll the pastry strips and then cut each strip into equal pieces.
  • 4. Preheat the oven to 180°C/350°F/gas mark 4.
  • 5. Place on a lined baking tray with the seam facing down. Brush milk across all the sausage rolls. Cook for 15 minutes.
  • 6. TIP: You can freeze the sausage rolls before cooking. If cooking from frozen cook for an extra 5-10minutes until cooked through.
