Introduction

These sloppy, delicious rolls are a fabulous hand-held alternative to a pasta dinner, made with store cupboard ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 450g beef mince
  • 1 jar tomato & basil sauce
  • TO SERVE:
  • Toasted bread rolls
  • Cheddar, grated

Method

  • 1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan, add the onion and garlic and cook over a medium heat for five minutes, until softened. Add the mince, breaking up with the back of a wooden spoon, and cook for ten minutes or until the meat is browned and cooked through.
  • 2. Pour in the tomato sauce and cook, stirring occasionally for five minutes, or until the sauce thickens. To serve, spoon the mince mixture over the roll bases, sprinkle with cheese and top with the rest of the buns.
