4-6 diced chicken breasts (Diced Lamb also works well with this dish)
a sachet of Patel’s One-der blend
1 inch stick of cinnamon
5 cardamom pods
300g of Greek Natural Yoghurt
1 Tin of tomatoes
1 tbs of mango chutney
Juice of ¼ lemon
Method
1. Cook on a low to medium heat
2. Slice onion finely and fry in Oil until starting to brown, add stick of cinnamon and cardamom pods and fry for 2 minutes
Add Patel’s One-der blend and stir well for 2 mins (remember Patel’s One-der blend already contains all your garlic, ginger & chilli and spices!).
3. Add 50ml of water and stir making paste.
4. Add Chicken and 1 knob of butter and cook until chicken is nearly done.
5. Add tin of Tomatoes , mango chutney and lemon stirring well, turn heat down low and add natural Greek yoghurt (stop yoghurt splitting)
6. Cover Pot and allow simmer for 40 mins or longer if you can wait!. Serve with Basmati Rice and some naan bread.
7. For a Low Fat Option – Use Low-fat or Non-fat Yoghurt and no butter.
Note: Dish is made to ‘Mild’ add more chilli powder/chilli flakes to increase its heat.
