Introduction

These minty patties are delicious when paired with pickled beetroot and tzatziki.

Ingredients

  • 500g lamb mince
  • 1 red onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh mint
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp dried breadcrumbs
  • Salt & pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • TO SERVE:
  • Pitta bread (or burger buns)
  • Mixed salad leaves
  • Pickled beetroot

Method

  • 1. Combine the lamb mince, onion, mint, egg, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper and mix with your hands until well combined. Shape into 4 round patties.
  • 2. Heat the oil in a pan and fry for 5 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking.
  • 3. Meanwhile, preheat your grill and toast your burger buns. Serve the burgers on toasted pitta bread, mixed leaves and pickled beetroot.
